Gov. Inslee to visit local colleges to observe environmental sustainability efforts

SPOKANE, Wash. — Governor Jay Inslee will visit Eastern Washington University and Spokane Falls Community College on Thursday to observe local efforts combating climate change.

Inslee will meet with EWU students, faculty and administrators to learn more about the university’s sustainability efforts. He will also tour the Palouse Prairie Restoration project, which aims to restore 120 acres of the native Palouse prairie habitat.

The Palouse Prairie project provides students learning and research opportunities, while also benefitting the environment.

Inslee will then visit Spokane Falls Community College to meet with Environmental Club students and tour the new Sustainability Center and Planetarium. The Sustainability Center launched last year to help connect students with various environmental academic, volunteer and job opportunities.
