Gonzaga women’s basketball wins season opener against Long Beach State

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women’s basketball team tacked on their first win of the season against Long Beach State Thursday night.

In the efficient 80-54 victory, the Zags shot 50 percent from the field, 43 percent from three, and 82 percent at the line.

Yvone Ejim led the team in points and rebounds, scoring 22 and snagging nine boards. Kaylei Truong led in assists with six.

The team will now take on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds on Saturday at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
