Gonzaga women’s 21-game win streak snapped by 70-60 win for Saint Mary’s
MORAGA, Calif. —The last time the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs lost was in overtime against a top-five Stanford Cardinal team in Maples Pavillion. They were riding a program-record 21-game win streak, before it was snapped by Saint Mary’s on Saturday, with a 70-60 final.
This was Gonzaga’s second game playing without second-leading scorer Katie Campbell, who will miss the rest of the season with a left knee injury.
Jessie Leora led the Zags in scoring with a career-high 19 points, 7 steals and 7 assists.

Jill Townsend added 18 points, after pouring in 17 on Pacific Thursday with a broken nose.
Offense came easier for the home-team Gaels than for the Zags, as they shot 56.5% from 2, and 67% from three. GU shot 32.8% from 2, and 33% from beyond the arc.
The Zags are now 23-2, and return home to host San Francisco Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
