Gonzaga to host sandwich drive for the hungry
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga University will host its fourth-annual peanut butter and jelly sandwich drive to benefit numerous local non-profit organizations serving the Spokane area.
Gonzaga’s dining team will oversee the event, welcoming volunteers from both on and off campus who will help prepare sandwiches. The event will be held on campus on Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The pb&j drive is sponsored by Gonzaga’s campus dining partner, Sodexo, who will be donating all ingredients and supplies needed for the event. The company is a long-term supporter of hunger-fighting efforts through local events and larger initiatives.
The annual pb&j drive is part of a month long celebration of World Kindness Day on Nov. 13. In 2017, Sodexo dining teams held the sandwich drives at 40 campuses and packaged more than 36,000 sandwiches for those in need.
