SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga will faceoff against Tennessee in the 2020 rendition of the Jimmy V Classic. This will be the Zags’ third time playing in the event at Madison Square Garden.

In their last trip in 2017, Gonzaga lost to Villanova 88-72. Their first trip in 2002 resulted in a 69-60 win over North Carolina State, Jim Valvano’s former school. Baylor and Rutgers go head to head in the other matchup.

This is Gonzaga’s first time playing Tennesse since the 2018 Jerry Colangelo Classic at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. While the Vols won 76-73, the game was most remembered for Brandon Clarke’s highlight reel block on Yves Pons.

This adds to Gonzaga’s already impressive out of conference schedule as the Bulldogs are slated to face Texas Tech, Arizona, Texas, Washington, and participate in the 2020 Orlando Invitational.
