Gonzaga slugger plays in grandparents’ back yard
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga’s Troy Johnston is near the top of the list in every offensive category for the Zags. He’s second in the nation in doubles, and he’s hit seven home runs in the last two weeks. At every home game, his grandparents root him on just blocks from their house.
Johnston says it was a dream of his to play at Gonzaga after walking around campus with his dad as a kid. Through hard work, he made it here and his grandparents couldn’t be happier to have him so close. You can find them at every Gonzaga home game.
