Gonzaga Basketball alum Josh Perkins signed to Charlotte Hornets
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Hornets General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced Tuesday that former Gonzaga basketball star Josh Perkins has been signed to the team.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet.
During the NBA Summer League, Perkins played against the Chinese national team for the Hornets, averaging over 20 minutes per game, scoring seven points per outing and making three assists. He also dropped four three-pointers and scored 14 points against the San Antonio Spurs.
While at Gonzaga, Perkins averaged 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals over the course of 153 games. He was named to the 2018-19 All-WCC First Team during his final season and was a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award for top point guard in the country.
Perkins was named the 2019 West Coast Conference Mike Gilleran male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He received his degree in Sport Management and is finishing his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
