GM recalls more than 1M pickups, SUVs
General Motors announced Thursday that it is recalling more than a million pickups and SUVs in the U.S. because of power-assisted steering problems.
WDIV reported that GM has 30 reports of crashes with two injuries.
The recall covers certain 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, and 2015 Cadillac Escalades and GMC Yukons.
GM said the power steering can fail momentarily during a voltage drop and suddenly return, mainly during low-speed turns, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM recalled 2014 model-year trucks last year for the same problem.
Those with the affected vehicles can contact dealers to schedule repairs at no cost.
