Friday morning’s top headlines
SPOKANE, Wash. — Happy Friday! As the week comes to a close, the weather will continue to be cool. We’re expecting a chance of showers this morning with today’s high temperatures topping out in the mid 50s, still about 10 degrees below average.

80-year-old arrested for Vancouver shooting
Police in Vancouver, Wash. suspect an 80-year-old man is responsible for shooting three people, killing one of them, in the lobby of a senior living apartment building yesterday. Robert E. Breck, who lives in the building, then went up to his apartment and refused to come out for about two hours, according to investigators. A crisis negotiation team was brought in and Beck was eventually arrested.

It’s National Taco Day. So, local taco shop Chronic Taco is helping you celebrate by giving you a free one. You don’t have to buy anything, but you do have to say “TACO LIFE” at the register between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Chronic Taco is downtown on the Bennett Block, near the old Macy’s building.
Seahawks win a thriller!
You’ll probably be hearing about last night’s Seahawks game at work today. A missed field goal in the final seconds of the game allowed Seattle to hold on to a 30-29 win over the Los Angeles Rams at CenturyLink Field. Go Hawks!
There’s lots to do this weekend to get you in the fall spirit! FallFest takes over downtown tomorrow, with kids’ crafts, sidewalk chalk, live music, a petting zoo and even an urban pumpkin patch. Or, you could dress up as a zombie and go on a pub crawl through town. Or, check out any of these fun fall events.
