Free water efficiency checks available to Spokane residents

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane wants to make sure you are saving money on your water bill.

You can sign up for free water efficiency checks through Water Wise. Trained technicians will come to your house for 30 minutes to an hour to check for any unexpected leaks, water efficiency and potential for water efficiency.

During the check, technicians will also give you recommendations on ways you can save water at your home.

Sprinkler check-ups will also be available starting through October. During these sprinkler checks, technicians will review outdoor water use patterns and local weather data to determine the water needs, evaluate each zone in your system to determine the efficiency, check for leaks in your sprinkler system and provide a recommended irrigation schedule for your controller.

Earlier this summer, the Spokane City Council passed an ordinance that will require Spokane residents to water their lawns on specific days.
