MILLWOOD, Wash.– A new Millwood restaurant is giving people a way to enjoy a cocktail and support a great cause at the same time.

Joe’s House opened in early 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic swept the nation. Co-owner Joe Van Voorhis said the extensive closures have been hard to face for him and his business partner Chas Elliott. But, instead of dwelling on the challenges, they found a way to give back.

“We’re going to do what we can,” Van Voorhis said.

Joe’s House teamed up with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to raise money for the Spokane Humane Society. For every one liter bottle of Tito’s sold at Joe’s House, the restaurant will donate five dollars to the humane society. Tito’s pledged to match the donation, according to Van Voorhis.

Van Voorhis said the goal is to sell 100 bottles by May 20.

People can swing by the restaurant at 3117 N Argonne Rd. to participate in the fundraiser. The restaurant is also serving up southwestern-inspired meals to-go Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
