February 2019 snowfall is second-highest on record for Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — The National Weather Service said that, as of midnight Thursday, this February was officially the second snowiest on record for Spokane.
The NWS counted an unofficial total of 29.8 inches of snow for the month, surpassing February 1975’s snowfall by just more than an inch but still falling plenty short of the 1893 February record of 39.6 inches.
It’s official (technically it will be at midnight), that Spokanites have earned a silver medal for the 2nd snowiest February on record. We can safely say there’s no chance of gold as we’ve run out of days to get another 9.8″ of snow. #silvermedalisntbad #wawx pic.twitter.com/o5c4AhV1zM

The City of Spokane launched another full city plow on Thursday morning. Cars must be parked on the odd side of the street and drivers headed to downtown Spokane this weekend should keep in mind that street parking will be prohibited from midnight to 6:00 am Thursday night through Saturday as crews clear downtown streets of snow.
