Fast-Moving North County Brush Fire Threatens Homes
SPOKANE — A fast-moving brush fire has burned through 10 acres of trees and brush and is threatening homes in northeast Spokane County.
Multiple fire crews and a PBY tanker aircraft are responding to the two-alarm blaze which was first reported at 3:47 Tuesday afternoon. The fire is threatening three homes as it burns through Ponderosa Pine and brush in a northeasterly direction.
In addition to the one air tanker already on station, two more are flying in from Coeur d’Alene and two helicopters have also been called in to help fight the fire from the air.
Indian Trail Road at the intersection with Blackfoot Avenue has been shut down due to the fire response.
No evacuations are being called for as of 4:50 p.m.
