Fanned by winds, wildfire growing near Ephrata

A major wildfire which started early Tuesday afternoon has grown to more than 100 acres and is continuing to expand.

The fire, burning one-and-a-half miles northwest of the Grant Count Seat, is burning in difficult terrain,  making it difficult for firefighters to reach the blaze on both foot and by vehicle.

A general mobilization of firefighting resources across Grant County is being called in to fight the fire while air support has been requested from the Department of Natural Resources.

Two homes are threatened but are being protected by firefighters. Some agricultural crops are also reportedly threatened.
