Extra WA distracted driving patrols will be out next week
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington Traffic Safety Commission announced Monday that there will be extra patrols focused on distracted driving out April 2 through April 18.
Over 150 law enforcement agencies statewide will be out looking for distracted drivers.
“Our goal is to raise public awareness about the dangers of distracted driving,” said Erika Mascorro, program manager for WTSC. “Research shows that drivers are three times more likely to crash when talking on the phone, and 23 times more likely to crash when entering information into their phone.”
