FARGO, North Dakota — The Eastern Washington Eagles are plenty familiar with FCS playoff games. Saturday, though, they’ll play one of those games in April for the first time.

The COVID-19 season has been a strange one in college football, with games just getting underway in late February.

The Eags started the season with a loss at Idaho, but have won five straight heading into Saturday’s game against North Dakota State. The Bison are 6-2 this season.

Saturday’s game is a rematch of the 2018 title game.

Kickoff is at 12:34 pacific time at the Fargodome.

“You have to play your best when the best is necessary,” said EWU Coach Aaron Best. “They have the upper hand right out of the gate because they are at the Fargodome in their home venue. We will be ready, excited and energetic to travel as a group this week, and put our best foot forward in the Fargodome.”

Eastern is 1-3 all time against the Bison. The last time they played was the 2018 season championship game, played in January 2019. NDSU won that game 34-24.

You can watch the game on ESPN3; you can also hear Larry Weir on the call on ESPN 700 and 104.3 FM in Spokane.
