PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is nearing its formal 1.0 launch, and with it will come a new desert map titled Miramar.
The PUBG team will reveal the first-ever gameplay footage of the new desert map live onstage at “The Game Awards” which can be watched online for free on Twitch.tv starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. PUBG is nominated for Game of the Year, Best Ongoing Game and Best Multiplayer Game.
A stark contrast to the fields and forests of the original Erangel map, the developers wrote in an announcement on their official Steam page, “The unique terrain and dense urban areas of Miramar will create a new Battle Royale experience where the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required.”
In addition to the new map Bluehole, the publisher behind the game announced three cosmetic packs for the Xbox Ones Game Preview launch of PUBG, slated to release December 12.
The “PUBG Warrior Pack” will be $9.99 and is available starting December 7 at 7 p.m. and will include a balaclava hat, camo t-shirt, pants and tennis shoes. The “PUBG Accessory Pack” will be available two days after the preview launch on December 14 and the PUBG Tracksuit pack will be available December 21, both for $4.99.
“These packs are exclusive to Xbox fans as standalone offers available for a limited time and as there are no plans to feature any in-game purchases in the Xbox Game Preview Version, are the only items that can be purchased during the preview period,” said Xbox Wire Editor in chief Will Tuttle.
