A woman in her 70s was stabbed near the Northeast Spokane Alberstons Wednesday night.

Spokane police say they found the woman just before 10:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Albertsons at 6500 block of N. Nevada. According to a release, the woman was suffering from “a non-life threatening stab wound,” and was taken to the hospital.

Police say it does not appear that the woman knew the person who stabbed her and investigators do not know the motive for the attack. Spokane police are interviewing witnesses and working to get a more clear suspect description, but officers say they are looking for a white male, possible between the ages of 45 to 60. They say he likely has a thin to medium build, and is about 5’10”.

Police say the suspect may have left in a ‘Subaru-style’ wagon, though investigators caution all information is preliminary at this time.

Any witnesses who have not talked to police are urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
