Early morning house fire displaces five residents

An early morning house fire in northwest Spokane displaced five residents.

Residents of the home in the 5800 block of N. Driscoll Blvd, were alerted to a fire around 12:30 a.m. after hearing a noise in the bathroom. The residents tried to extinguish the fire and called 911.

The residents evacuated the home before the Spokane Fire Department arrived.

Crews discovered the fire was in a hallway and bathroom, and that it had spread to the attic. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the family. No injuries were reported.

The fire damaged the living area and attic area. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Spokane Fire Investigative Unit.
