Dust storm, semi crash shuts down State Route 26

State Route 26 Dust

WHITMAN CO., Wash. — State Route 26 is closed three miles west of Dusty, due to a semi truck crash from poor visibility and blowing dust.

Washington State Patrol is on-scene, reporting that a semi truck and car crashed, and the wreck is blocking the roadway.

Troopers are still working to set up alternate routes, and are encouraging drivers to find a different way through.

The National Weather Service and WSDOT say that parts of State Route 26 have visibility of less than half a mile.

There is no word yet on when the road will reopen.
