Durant, Warriors beat Rockets in Game 1

Kevin Durant scored 37 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 119-106 road win over the Houston Rockets to open up the Western Conference finals Monday night.

Klay Thompson added 28 points, while Stephen Curry scored 18 points to go along with six rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block.

Draymond Green scored only five points, but made up for it with a near double-double with nine rebounds and nine assists to go along with two steals and two blocks.

James Harden scored 41 points in the losing effort for the Rockets, who find themselves down 1-0 going into Wednesday’s Game 2, which will also be at the Toyota Center in Houston.

The Warriors are seeking to return to the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year, having met the Cleveland Cavaliers for the title the past three seasons. They are 2-1 in those Finals matchups, winning last year and in 2015, but falling to the Cavs in 2016.
