Driver falls asleep at wheel, causes accident south of Moscow
MOSCOW, Idaho — Two drivers were hospitalized following a car accident early Tuesday morning on US95, south of Moscow.
According to a statement released by Idaho State Police, the accident happened when Katie M. Hamilton, 25, fell asleep at the wheel and her car swerved across the lane and into the trailer of a Swift semi-truck.
Hamilton’s 2000 Honda CRV spun and continued 70 feet into a nearby farm field, the statement said. She was transported by Lifeflight to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Lewiston. The driver of the semi, 43-year-old Mame Sylla, was transported to Gritman Medical and released with no injuries.
