Dozens of breweries come together to celebrate Spokane Craft Beer Week
SPOKANE, Wash. — Get excited brew fans. It’s time for Craft Beer Week!
Established in 2015 and sponsored by the Inlander, Craft Beer Week features breweries in the area in more than 50 events throughout Spokane, Post Falls, even Pullman.
These events include brewery collaborations, beer dinners and tap takeovers.
“I love that it brings people together,” said Matt Hanson, owner of Whistle Punk Brewing. Hanson helped bring the nationwide beer celebration to Spokane back in 2015.
“About five years ago there was a big emerging scene in Spokane and we thought that it deserved a week to showcase everything exciting happening in the local beer industry,” Hanson said.
This year, 44 breweries will be participating in the week-long celebration.
“We’ve hit most of the local spots but there are probably some new places we will try,” said Scott Toliver. “Between like Yakima, Seattle, Portland, Missoula — Spokane is right up there with them.”
The event starts Monday and runs through May 19.
