Downtown Spokane scavenger hunt encourages participants to look up and away from cell phones
SPOKANE, Wash. — To celebrate May being Historic Preservation Month, the Spokane Historic Preservation Office is holding a Downtown Architectural Scavenger Hunt through May 31!
If you’re looking for a unique activity for the family this weekend, perhaps a date or just a way to spend time with a friend, print a few of these guides and be prepared for a little walking and whole lot of fun!
Participants are given 10 different photos that show parts of different buildings — like siding and windows. They are also provided with a map of about 10 downtown blocks where you can find the buildings the features in the photos belong to!
Addresses for each building you find must be recorded, if you get them all right, your name is entered to win one of four pretty cool prizes which include behind the scenes tours of places like the Spokane County Courthouse, the Campbell House, the Carr Electric Building and 2 tickets to the annual historic homes tour in the fall.
