Downtown commercial burglaries have peaked, according to Spokane Police
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police have noticed common trends in downtown commercial burglaries, which have peaked recently. A report by the Spokane Police Department says that burglars have been targeting businesses with access to both public and private areas.
Police are asking that business owners and employees keep an eye on people hanging out in areas that are commonly off limits to the public. If employees come in contact with someone in a suspicious area, police ask that they remain polite, but still ask questions as to why they’re in the area.
Meanwhile, business owners can reduce the risk of burglary by limiting access to off limits areas and marking those areas with “employee only” signs.
