Don’t miss the Jr. Lilac Parade this weekend
SPOKANE, Wash. — The 68th annual Jr. Lilac Parade will make its way through the streets of downtown Spokane this weekend.
According to the parade’s website, “The parade is a treasured, long-standing tradition in Spokane.” “Each spring, the community comes together in downtown Spokane to celebrate our children.”
Parade-goers can see elementary and middle school bands and drill units, youth organizations, and other clubs. You might even see some of our local mascot celebrities, such as Butch, Swoop, and Spike!
Many local city and county officials, as well as area businesses, also join in the fun.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. The route can be found below.
The Jr. event leads up to the main Lilac Parade that will happen the following weekend on May 18.
