Don’t let a grinch steal your Christmas: Keep package thieves at bay

An Otis Orchards woman’s Facebook post of a thief stealing a package form her porch has been shared almost 4,000 times.

Christine Mackleit told KXLY the box, containing dog treats, was delivered at 1:40 p.m. and that a man walked up and took the box within ten minutes.

Anyone know this lovely soul who stole my package off my doorstep in Otis Orchards today 7 minutes after it was delivered? Hope he has Merry F@#%jng Christmas. This is a public post so please feel free to share!

She told KXLY she’s lucky- had the thief picked any other day that week, he’d have made off with something more valuable. She also said her purchase was refunded.

The theft was reported to police, though nothing has turned up yet. But in the post’s comments strangers have offered tips and information about the man seen in the video.

SPD asks neighbors to remain vigilant and to ensure that you plan for your deliveries to be dropped off somewhere safe.
