Donations pour in for Andrew Vathis at South Hill coffee shop, funds donated to his family
SPOKANE, Wash. — More support has literally been pouring out at a South Hill coffee shop in Spokane — all for Andrew Vathis, the beloved Albertson’s employee who lost his life when he was hit by an SUV last Friday.
White Dog Coffee is donating all of Friday’s proceeds to Andrew’s family. The owners told KXLY that the South Hill community is tight knit, and they wanted to help out.
They also say people have been dropping in all day, sometimes not to buy coffee, but to donate to the cause.
“Andrew’s gonna be really missed up here and everybody that knew him loved him and you know, it just puts things into perspective, you know, to live every day like it’s your last,” Cory Shrock, one of White Dog’s owners said. “I know that’s a little cliche, but it’s just so true that you never know when your time is up.”
Andrew’s memorial is Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Ferris High School gym.
