Detectives try to identify man connected to cell phone thefts
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the theft of two cell phones.
Deputies arrived at Krispy Kreme in the Spokane Valley on January 16, just before 8 p.m., to investigate a report of two stolen cell phones.
The victim told deputies she was selling her cell phones and had arranged to meet a possible buyer at Krispy Kreme. The victim said she spoke with the male about the phones, while a second male entered the store and walked into a single person bathroom. The first male then got up and went into the same bathroom with the second male.
According to the victim, the first male came back to the table where the victim and her friend were sitting a minute later, while the second male sat down a few benches away.
The first male asked the victim to see the two cell phones, and began looking at them. The second male then approached the first male and began picking a fight.
The victim asked for her cell phones back and tried to grab them, but she was punched and pushed.
The first male ran out of the store with the cell phones and jumped into a waiting dark-colored, 4-door sedan. The second male ran out of the store and was last seen running west on Indiana.
If you recognize the male in this photo, or have any information regarding the crime, you are asked to call Detective Marc Melville at 509-477-3325.
