Detectives need help identifying man who tried to rob Spokane Valley Macy’s

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying the man pictured above after deputies responded to shoplifting and robbery calls at the Spokane Valley Macy’s around 7:30 p.m. on October 10.

A loss prevention employee confronted the man when she saw the him try to conceal merchandise and leave the store without paying. The employee identified herself and told him to stop as he tried to walk out.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the man then grabbed the employee by the arms and threw her to the ground inside the foyer. The suspect ran from the store and dropped the stolen items as he ran away.

He appeared to be alone and was not seen with a car. It is believed he was on foot or may have had a bicycle in the area.

He was described as a black male, in his late 30s, approximately 6’02” and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray Nike hoodie and dark colored athletic pants.
