Detectives investigating violent assault find woman from surveillance video unharmed
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Detectives with the Spokane Valley Sexual Assault Unit located a woman seen in surveillance photos with Michael Rush, the man accused of raping and assaulting a Cenex Zip Trip employee at the store on January 13. She is unharmed and cooperating with the investigation.
Michael Rush was seen arriving with the woman at the Cenex Zip Trip several hours before the incident. Detectives say Rush returned several hours later and committed the assault.
Investigators were initially concerned that the woman may have been in danger or had come to harm in some way.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department says assistance and tips from citizens helped to identify and locate the woman.
