Deputies seize SUV possibly linked to Hayden hit-and-run
HAYDEN, Idaho — Detectives with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office have seized an SUV they believe was involved in a recent hit-and-run.
On Monday, 61-year-old Steve Walson was severely injured when he was run over by a dark colored SUV at the Hico gas station between Hayden Ave and Ramsey Road.
Lieutenant Ryan Higgins said investigators are working to get a search warrant for the vehicle. Once that is obtained, it will be processed for any evidence that may link the vehicle to the incident.
Investigators have also conducted interviews with the owners of the vehicle, but the Sheriff’s Office is not ready to release any names or information about the owners, nor the driver of the vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for all of the leads that have been coming in. The vehicle was located as a result of a lead and information passed to investigators.
