Teen missing from Hauser found safe with friends in Coeur d’Alene
HAUSER, Idaho — A 14-year-old who was reported missing from the Hauser area was found safe with friends in Coeur d’Alene, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.
The Sheriff’s Office began searching for Alejandro G. Flores around midnight Friday, when his mother called to say he left with permission on an ATV and never came home.
Flores was reported to have left on Hoyt Road, headed toward the Hauser Boat Launch.
Deputies later learned he was at a friend’s house around 1:30 a.m. The ATV was found at the friend’s house, leading deputies to believe Flores left from there on foot, and possibly with another friend.
Based on that information, Flores was believed to have run away, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
Flores was found around 3 p.m. on Saturday, hanging out with friends in the Coeur d’Alene Plaza Shops.
