Deputies searching for suspects in Browns Park shooting, robbery
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting and robbery at Browns Park in Spokane Valley late Wednesday night.
Corporal Mark Gregory said five victims between the ages of 17 and 20 were sitting in a park listening to music. The victims said a silver or white sedan pulled up and two men, armed with handguns, got out.
Gregory said the suspects demanded items from the victims. One victim said he handed over his satchel, with his wallet and airpods. Another handed over his wallet. A third victim told deputies the suspects were trying to take a speaker, but he argued with them and they left.
Gregory said the two men got back in the car and drove away, but appeared to fire a round through the rear window.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find the suspects or suspect vehicle.
Deputies said the two suspects were white men, believed to be in their early to mid-twenties. One suspect was described as having braided dark or black hair. The second suspect was wearing a black bandana covering his blond hair. Deputies also believe a white female may have been driving the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was described as a Chrysler 200, or similar make, with a shattered rear window.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Major Crimes Detective Kirk Keyser.
