Dense Fog Causes Flight Delays, Cancellations In Chicago
CHICAGO — Dense fog in the Chicago area is hampering visibility and causing delays, as the rush to get home for the holidays continues.
A spokesman at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport says about 50 flights there have been canceled because of the weather. He adds that delays for all flights in and out of the airport are about an hour on average.
Midway says it has no canceled flights.
Meanwhile, a quick-moving winter storm system has started bringing snow to parts of Oklahoma, where forecasters say accumulations could be as high as 6 inches.
Road conditions are treacherous in some places, but no delays because of local weather are being reported at either Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City or Tulsa International Airport.
