Dennis R. Edmonds
Dennis R. Edmonds “Denny Ray” (67) resident of Harrison, ID passed away at Benewah Community Hospital on May 2, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. He was born to Lyle and Carol Edmonds on June 2, 1953 in Honolulu, HI.
Growing up, Denny’s dad was in the Navy, and the family relocated numerous times, he graduated from high school in Woodburn, OR in 1975. Following high school, Dennis enlisted in the Army for 3 years, and then worked a variety of jobs to support himself and his family. He & his wife were entrepreneurs and worked side by side 24/7 for most of their marriage.
They started spending winters in Hawaii where they purchased a couple homes to fix up together and later sell. Denny worked for the Idaho State Parks and Rec Department and was one of the first Rangers for the Trail of the Coeur d’ Alene’s, a job in which he enjoyed very much.
On July 9, 1994 he married Laurie Frans. The couple moved to Harrison, ID from Eureka, WI in the fall of 1994. They enjoyed life together and a variety of the same interests. He was a musician and enjoyed playing music, especially the fiddle in which he played his rendition of the “Orange Blossom Special.” He was also a composer and could play just about any instrument that was set in front of him. He enjoyed photography, traveling, spending time with his children and family. Denny loved life and will be remembered as a loving, friendly, and heartfelt guy.
Denny is survived by his wife Laurie Edmonds; children Jonathan (Katie) Edmonds, Jennifer (Emile) Draper, Heather (Mark) Alice, Justin (Jenn) Edmonds, Monique (Sean) Johnson, and Jamie Rodriguez; Father Lyle Edmonds; siblings Jim (Elissa) Edmonds, Richard (Mary) Edmonds, and Valerie (Duane) Wilson; and 17 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother.
A Celebration of Life will be July 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm-4:00 pm at the Harrison City Park. Music will follow by Jam Shack.
