SPOKANE, Wash. — A video posted online helped Spokane Police arrest a man they say threw a molotov cocktail at a group of officers on Sunday afternoon.

Court documents say the man threw the device into the group on Howard Street.

Police then saw a video online of the man lighting it and began trying to figure out who he was.

A Kootenai County detective and an anonymous witness called SPD, saying they recognized the man as Gene Gallagher.

Police found pictures of Gallagher online, posting selfies and videos, wearing the same outfit as the man in the video.

Gallagher is now in the Spokane County Jail on multiple charges.
