Couple burned in Cold Springs Fire tells their story of survival, loss and faith

SEATTLE, Wash. — Washington’s wildfire season was ferocious, leveling an entire town, burning hundreds of homes and thousands of acres, and taking one life.

A 22-month-old boy died in the Cold Springs Fire in Okanogan County. Now, his parents, Jacob and Jamie Hyland, are telling their story for the first time.
