Cougs, Huskies get the late kickoff for Apple Cup
Pullman, Wash – Fans should have most of the Thanksgiving leftovers put away long before the Cougars and Huskies take the field for Apple Cup Saturday.
The Pac-12 announced the game will kick off at 7:30 pm and will air on ESPN.
Saturday’s game times were in flux until this week’s games were complete.
This is the first time since 2011 the Apple Cup will be played on Saturday instead of Black Friday.
Both teams will be coming off of wins when face off in Pullman.
The Cougs (7-4) beat Arizona 31-20 Saturday; the Huskies (9-2) pummeled Colorado 54-7 to stay unbeaten at home this season.
Both teams have already secured bowl eligibility this year and the Huskies could be playing for a Pac -12 title, depending on the outcome of other games.
The teams will also playing for bowl game locations and state bragging rights.
The Huskies lead the series 74-33-6 since the rivalry game first started in 1900.
The Apple Cup trophy, though, currently resides in Pullman.
The Cougs beat the Huskies 40-13 last year in Seattle.
