Cougar Nation invited to attend Tyler’s Hike
PULLMAN, Wash. — The Hilinski family and Hilinski’s Hope Foundation is inviting Washington State University football fans to attend a hike to honor and remember Tyler Hilinski.
The former WSU quarterback took his own life in January. In June, Tyler’s parents, Mark and Kym Hilinski, revealed their son had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
Tyler’s Hike will take place at Kamiak Butte County Park’s Pine Ridge Trail at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, the day of the Cougars’ home opener vs. San Jose State. Kamiak Butte, one of Tyler’s favorite places to visit, is located about 14 miles north of Pullman.

A tweet from Jill Osur of Hilinski’s Hope, who’s also the mother of WSU football player Noah Osur-Myers, encourages people to, “Tell 3 friends, bring 3 friends, make 3 friends.” Tyler wore the number 3 for the Cougars.
