Cougar Country Drive-In closed until further notice
PULLMAN, Wash. — Pullman’s Cougar Country Drive-In is closed until further notice, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page Tuesday morning.
Last week, owner Rhonda Witt-Miller told KXLY 4 News Cougar Country was not closing, despite several employees saying otherwise.
But now, Witt-Miller writes on Facebook, “I take full responsibility for this…it IS my business and I should have been aware of what was happening, especially to the employees!”
I’m going to make this 1 statement!! Cougar Country is closed until further notice. I have applied for financing and…
Witt-Miller admitted to KXLY last week that employees were asked not to cash recent paychecks because they would likely not clear. She also said she needed to secure extra financing before they could pay a major supplier.
“Please forgive me for my wrong doings [sic]…I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever,” Witt-Miller wrote in the Facebook post. “I promise to all of the employees…I WILL MAKE THIS RIGHT!”
It is not clear when Cougar Country Drive-In may reopen.
The restaurant has been in business in Pullman since 1973 and is a favorite of Pullman residents, WSU students and Cougar fans.
