How wildfire smoke can be dangerous to your health

SPOKANE, Wash. — In recent years, wildfire smoke has severely diminished air quality in the Inland Northwest—in 2018 and 2019, Spokane had the worst air quality in the U.S. During the summer of 2020, it even threatened to push beyond the air quality index.

That is why the Washington State Department of Health and Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency are hosting an air quality webinar this week.

Air quality specialists will share information aimed to help people reduce their exposure to smoke particles. Topics will include wildfire smoke, indoor air quality, home ventilation and setting up cleaner air rooms.

To register for the webinar, visit the Spokane County Library District website.
