Coeur d’Alene’s ‘stair home’ up for sale

Stair Home
(Turner Sutton)

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Coeur d’Alene’s “stair home” is officially on the market.

The five-story, 936-square foot, lakefront home has been listed for $695,000. It was completed in 2019 after the owner spent nearly 15 years in court working to get the project approved.

In an interview with realtor.com, listing agent Lisa Ciraulo said the home was “an idea that the seller had and just wanted to kind of work with it and see it grow.”

The home sits on a 1.38-acre lot, is built on stilts and has plenty of deck space. It lacks, however, legal bedrooms.

There are mattresses and small cubby spaces around the house, but they are not considered legal bedrooms because they do not have closets.

There is no running water, but there are possible building opportunities for an interested buyer. According to realtor.com, the engineering could accommodate another 1.5-story room on top.
