Coeur d’Alene student arrested for social media threat

A student in the Coeur d’Alene School District was arrested for making a threat on social media.

The school district says they detected a non-specific social media threat this week and Coeur d’Alene Police detectives identified the student responsible for making the threat. That student was placed under arrest and is expected to be charged with making a threat.

No school or student was named in the threat.

The district says that if your student is online, they should know what is at stake when they communicate with others, comments on posts, share photos, and engage in other social media activities. They ask for parents to help their students understand the implications of their actions.
