Coeur d’Alene Resort prepares for busy holiday season!

From the Gooeys to the lights, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Coeur d’Alene Resort! Once again, they are pulling out all the stops to make sure you feel like you’re walking in a winter wonderland, starting with their “Journey to the North Pole” cruises.

Good Morning Northwest visited Hooey the Elf as he and his friends the Gingerbread Man and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer put the finishing touches on their new home for the next month and a half.

“Santa has actually brought all of us elves out here and he’s given us the job of making sure all the kids in Coeur d’Alene,Idaho have the best Christmas of their lives,’ exclaimed Hooey.

The ceremonial lighting is happening Friday, November 23, but if you’d like to get your Christmas on and beat the crowds preview week begins tomorrow.

Captain of the Journey to the North Pole cruise Car Fus said, “it’s the exact same show you’d get during the regular season but you get some great discounts.”

Tickets to Journey to the North Pole can be purchased here.

Over on the water, the man behind the holiday lights, Dave Clancey, has been burning the midnight oil for the last two months to get everything set up.

250 displays, 1.5 million lights – and you thought checking your Christmas tree lights was hard!

“Each strand of light bulbs we’ve got to go through them, check them. You know, with your Christmas tree you probably throw out a strand of light bulbs if they are not working. For us, we don’t throw them out, we repair them,” explained Clancey,

The Travolta family is back with their Coeur d’Alene holiday theater show, this year with a new theme, “Christmas Unwrapped!”

“This year, I put an ask out for toys: what’s your favorite toy you gave, you got, or you didn’t get,” shared producer and star Ellen Travolta.

Ellen’s been inundated with letters from the community and is bringing in a few special guests to help her read them!

“The letters make you laugh, make you cry,” added Ellen.

The show kicks off the same night as the ceremonial lighting. Tickets are already available here.
