Whitworth head basketball coach Matt Logie is leaving the university to take a new head coaching position with Point Loma Nazarene University.

Logie was with the team for eight seasons and lead the Pirates to two Sweet 16 appearances.

According to a release from Whitworth, Logie is the winningest active coach in all of the NCAA Division III men’s basketball, with a winning percentage of .847.

Assistant head coach Damion Jablonski will move into the head coach role for the Pirates.

“The basketball family at Whitworth will always be a part of my family and I am so grateful for all of the incredible experiences we have shared together, which have made these the best eight years of my life,” said Logie.
