Claudine Germaine Plummer

Claudine Germaine Plummer, 89, of Spokane, quietly passed away by the dawn’s early light, Thursday, July 4, 2019, at The Spokane Hospice House.

She was born February 20, 1930, in Châteauroux, France, to Gaston and Alfonsine Berthet.

Claudine was a long time resident of Moses Lake, WA, where she lived from 1967 to 2007. She graduated from the College Les Capucins, Châteauroux in 1946 and married in 1955 to Francis Plummer Sr., an E8 Sergeant in the US Military. She and her family traveled and lived across Europe, stationed at bases throughout, eventually landing in Moses Lake, WA in 1967. There, she became a librarian technician at Big Bend Community College until her retirement in 1993.

Claudine was known for her independent and tenacious spirit, her love of chocolate and cats, and for her strong adoration of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Claudine was the happiest surrounded by family, savoring a fine pâte, playing board games together, and listening to the rumble of the many conversations taking place around her.

Claudine cherished her life-long friendships and could spend countless hours conversing and reminiscing about her life. She was loved by many and her influence will always remain in the lives of all who knew her. Claudine will be remembered most for her graciousness, subtle wit and comedic ability, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her unmistakable giggle will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her two daughters, Caroline Plummer and Maria Walker of Spokane, and her son, Alan Plummer of Seattle; as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. Her son, Francis Plummer, preceded her in death.
