Cheney HS students walk-out in protest against current gun laws
CHENEY, Wash. — On Wednesday, students at Cheney High School walked out in protest against gun laws. Protests like these have become popular after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
At noon, Cheney students walked out of class and stood in front of their school to vent frustration with school safety and guns.
Students that wished to participate, but did not want to walk out, had the option of taking a moment of silence in their classes.
“There are two things that need extra help here, mental health issues and more gun control,” said one student during the group’s remarks.
Other students said similar things before heading back to class.
