Chelan County deputies arrest man for stabbing another man with a sword
WENATCHEE, Wash. — Chelan County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed another man in the stomach with a sword Thursday morning.
Deputies responded to a reported stabbing Thursday at around 4 a.m. in the 100 block of Boodry Street in Wenatchee. The victim, a 61-year-old man, said he was stabbed in the stomach, and that the suspect fled.
Responding deputies were flagged down in the 70 block by another man, who also claimed to be a stabbing victim. The man, later identified as 21-year-old Alexander Alhammadi, said he was on his porch when a man wearing dark clothing stabbed him with a knife. Alhammadi had a knife wound to his hand. He was taken to Central Washington Hospital for his injuries.
Deputies found the 61-year-old man who had originally called in the stabbing in the 100 block of Boodry Street. He said he was confronted by a man wearing a mask and dark clothing on his front porch, and that the suspect had pulled out a sword and stabbed him in the stomach and ran, leaving the sword behind.
The victim was also taken to Central Washington Hospital. The severity of his injuries are unknown.
Detectives determined through an investigation that Alhammadi was the suspect with the sword. Detectives aren’t sure how he got the injury to his hand.
After Alhammadi was released by the hospital, he was booked into Chelan County Regional Jail for Assault 1st Degree.
The investigation is ongoing.
