Chelan County Commissioners ban short-term rentals

CHELAN CO., Wash. — The Chelan County Board of Commissioners has banned short-term vacation rentals in to further enforce Gov. Jay Inslee’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy order.

The resolution bans rentals at AirBnbs, VRBOs, campgrounds, and bed and breakfasts.

Popular vacation destinations like Leavenworth, Chelan, and Manson experienced a surge in people from outside Chelan County immediately follow Gov. Inslee’s decree.

Those who do not comply with the ban with be fined $500 a day.

Those already in campgrounds and hotel shelter, and those being used a temporary housing, are exempt.
